BRiM 2022 Sponsorship Programme
BRiM is a cross-industry initiative seeking to improve the representation of Black people in marketing. We will move the industry from good intentions to meaningful action with measurable impact.
One of the ways we will do this is through our inaugural Sponsorship programme which will take up to 100 Black Sponsees from across the marketing industry and pair them with Sponsors in their organisations. Sponsorship and EDI specialists, WERKIN, are facilitating the programme based on content from the BRiM Sponsorship Toolkit. It will include full onboarding, monthly workshops, a community platform for participants to connect and post-programme reporting.

FAQs
How long will the programme run?
The programme launches at the end of September and will run for 6 months. The structure of the programme is as follows:
Preparation: Launch Event (Virtual)
Phase 1: The Big Picture - This starting point encourages sponsees to take a look at what is important to them and their vision for their future.
Phase 2: The Pathway - This requires the sponsee and the sponsor to identify what steps to take to achieve the success highlighted in their vision.
Phase 3: Taking Action - This crucial phase is where the sponsor should leverage their network and open doors for the sponsee.
Phase 4: Looking Back - At the end of the programme both the sponsor and sponsee should reflect on each step and share feedback.
Why should I apply?
Sponsees: If you’re a Black person in Marketing and want to make new connections and advance your career, this programme is for you. There is a lack of representation of people of colour, specifically Black people, in this industry and we want to change that.
Sponsors: If you’re committed to supporting Black talent in the industry and you have some influence in your organisation, we encourage you to sign up to be a Sponsor. You can be of any ethnicity.
What’s the time commitment?
You will be expected to commit 1 hour a month to meeting your Sponsor / Sponsee, 15 minutes a month reflecting on your learnings from the session, 15 minutes a month connecting to your mentoring community via our platform, and attend one workshop a month (virtual) throughout the 6 months. That’s a total of 2 hours 30 minutes a month.
