FAQs

Why the focus on Diversity & Inclusion?

The benefits of a diverse and inclusive workforce include:

  • Innovation

  • Better-informed decisions

  • An average 30% increase in productivity

  • A sense of belonging in the workforce

  • Providing better services to the patients we take care of

  • Attracting and retaining diverse talent, from non-traditional areas of recruitment

  • Boosting employee satisfaction

What can I expect from the programme?

This programme will be conducted as a pilot with three upskilling modules.

Module 1 : Deconstruct to Reconstruct

We’ll be delving into what makes up our identity and beliefs, and how they shape our professional experiences.

Module 1 will be delivered over one month, and you will be expected to attend 2 virtual sessions and complete your Ready & Prepared workbook.

Module 2: Career Coaching & Personal Development

This module will focus on Goal Setting and Goal Keeping, equipping candidates with the tools they need for the next module.

Module 2 will be delivered over one virtual session, and you will be expected to complete your Ready & Prepared workbook.

Module 3: Inclusive Mentoring

Each Ready & Prepared candidate will be matched with a senior leader who will mentor and sponsor them for the next 6 months. The candidate will also be expected to provide mentorship to the senior leader around inclusive practices, predominantly by honestly sharing their professional and personal experiences as part of an under-represented group. Guidance will be given to both candidates and mentors on how to embark on this Inclusive Mentoring journey and sustain momentum.

Module 3 will be delivered over six months, and you will be expected to meet with your mentoring partner at least one hour a month, as well as attending supplementary virtual workshops by WERKIN to help you on your journey, and complete your Ready & Prepared workbook (15 minutes a week).

Who can register?

Ready & Prepared is open to all colleagues with protected characteristics from our CRG Community and wider business areas. For the purposes of this pilot, candidates have been carefully selected and will help shape the programme for future cohorts.

If you're not sure if you're eligible to register, please click here to contact us directly.

How long is the pilot, and what would my commitment be?

The launch date for Ready & Prepared is April 20th (please keep 1-2.30pm open that day). The programme will run until the end of December 2022.

By registering onto the programme, you commit to:

  • Attending WERKIN-run sessions during all modules (if you can’t make the sessions, you will be expected to watch the recordings)

  • Completing your Ready & Prepared programme workbook (15 minutes a week)

  • Meeting with your mentoring partner regularly once a month during module three, and remaining confidential, open, and honest

  • Feeding back to WERKIN and IC24 to help shape future cohorts

What is in it for me?

This is an excellent development opportunity for Top Talent in IC24. We are providing this opportunity solely to members of our CRGs and talent pool as historically professional development has not been as widely available to under-represented groups.

You will be given the time and expertise to really focus on your career development, and upon completing the programme will enter a diverse talent pool that will enable career acceleration in IC24.

Who are WERKIN?

Ready & Prepared will be delivered by WERKIN, a company that specialises in mentoring and career development for underrepresented groups. WERKIN are pioneers of modern leadership and inclusive organisational design and are sought out to share expertise on mentoring, leadership development, learning & organisational development initiatives, and how to best support diverse and under-represented employees to make workplace better for everyone.

What’s the deadline?

Please submit your application by Close of Business (5.30pm) on 12 April, 2022.
